Our standard glass blocks are 80mm thick and are manufactured by fusing two halves of a glass block together, creating a partial vacuum within the block.
Our glass blocks are installed into Ezylay aluminium frames which are fixed to the building. Frames hold the glass blocks firmly in place whilst allowing for expansion and contraction of the blocks. The glass blocks within the frame are free from structural pressures brought about by movement in the building.
Mortar & silicone
Ezylay Glass Block Premix Mortar has been designed specifically for use with the Ezylay framing system. The mortar is a white waterproof mix and is used in 2mm or 10mm joints.
Silicone sealant is a high performance, non-acidic, anti-mould sealant specially designed for glass block installation.
Reinforcing rods are made from 6mm galvanised steel or 5mm stainless steel which is resistant to corrosion and used in coastal areas. The rods are installed in every second course of blocks for added strength and security.
