Stage four is finally complete. The showroom is really coming together now. The sales area is almost finished and features a frameless freestanding panel of satin DT glass blocks and stunning coloured Mendini blocks. The desk itself sits on a framed panel of satin DT’s and Mendini glass blocks. This panel is illuminated using LED lights so that the colours of the Mendini blocks can be seen to great effect.
Both panels were sealed using Ezylay silicone. The desk top is a cream coloured wood grain finish which is also used on the bench tops. We finally have a unique and functional sales desk in the showroom. All we need now are some nice chairs, artwork on the walls, a bit of a tidy and the sales area is complete.
The selection and demonstration area is also finished. The shelves and demonstration bench top have arrived. With a bit of debate on how to install the shelves, the team decided on a freestanding shelf using wave glass blocks as the supports and silicone to hold it all together. The end result is stable and strong enough to hold the weight of at least nine glass blocks on each shelf. The shelves are used to showcase our Mendini, Pegasus, metallic and standard ranges as well as some of our speciality blocks.
The demonstration table is also installed with wave glass blocks as the table legs. It’s another example of the many ways glass blocks can be used. This area will be used to show clients how to install their DIY glass block projects. Our sales team will provide step by step instructions on the process.
With stage 4 complete there are only a few things to finish and the showroom will be transformed! Stage 5 consists of changing some of the existing panels with different glass blocks, fixing the lighting as well as finishing off other minor details.
