First AGB YouTube video

28 Feb 2014 / 0 Comments / in Latest news/by Nikki

Adelaide Glass Blocks now has its very own YouTube Channel. We’re planning to include a whole range of instructional videos to make it even easier to install glass blocks yourself. Our first video is of our excellent Factory Manager Tyson who runs through how to install and seal up a small glass block panel. This video is especially helpful for those planning to DIY a glass block panel for a small space such as a toilet window and laundry areas. A big thanks to Tyson for going above and beyond the call of duty and getting in front of the camera to show us how it’s done. To view our latest glass block video head to the Adelaide Glass Blocks YouTube channel by clicking the link. For those enthusiastic glass block fans, you can subscribe to our YouTube channel and keep up to date with our regular videos.

Don’t forget, we’ve also got some great pdf installation instructions on our website for the DIY people out there.

Expanded fire rated range

23 Jan 2014 / 0 Comments / in Latest news, New product/by Nikki

Adelaide Glass Blocks is very excited to announce we have expanded our range of certified fire-rated products.

Late in 2013, the CSIRO released the testing results of the Pegasus range of glass blocks. Tested in accordance with AS 1530.4-2005 the CSIRO found that the Pegasus blocks achieve a fire resistance of FRL -/60/-.  As a result, projects requiring fire-rated walls will now have a larger range of colours and finishes to choose from.

Previously, it was common practice to brick up a space in order to satisfy fire-rating requirements. The CSIRO certification opens up a new range of design and aesthetic possibilities. With a large range of colours, styles and finishes to choose from, fire-rating need not compromise on natural light or style.

A fresh new look for Adelaide Glass Blocks

17 Jul 2013 / 0 Comments / in Latest news, Uncategorized/by Nikki

Adelaide Glass Blocks is pleased to launch our new look website. Our family owned company has been in business for a long time (more than 20 years!) and we believe it’s time for a revamp. Our new website is the first stage of this process. The renovation of our showroom is next as well as a long-awaited office refurbishment.

A couple of things haven’t changed however :

  • Our excellent service has always been a priority.
  • Our many happy customers who return when they are ready for additional renovations and refer us to their friends
  •  Our fabulous product which is so versatile and practical, it has virtually unlimited applications! Glass blocks have been used in large projects such as hospitals (the Queen Elizabeth and the Royal Adelaide hospitals), banks, shopping centres (Mitcham, Norwood), court houses, schools, hotels and offices, to the smallest such as laundry window replacements, front door sidelights and stairwells.
  •  The innovation of the glass block. With the collaboration of renowned international architects and designers such as Renzo Piano, Rafael Moneo and Jeff Brock, the glass block has been customised and re-engineered to satisfy diverse technical requirements. These partnerships have produced unique solutions with a contemporary look.

We welcome you to have a look around our new site, explore the great ideas and innovative solutions to challenges such as  increasing light, security, fire-rating and  soundproofing to name a few.

If you’d like more information, please give me a call!
